a collection of herbal remedies, recipes, and reveries

At Krista’s Herbarium, we believe that healing begins with relationship — relationship with ourselves, with the natural world, and with the plants that have supported human wellbeing for generations. Herbalism is not simply about treating symptoms; it is about listening deeply, understanding the whole person, and recognising that healing is a journey rather than a quick fix. We honour the wisdom of traditional herbal practice while bringing it together with thoughtful, evidence-informed clinical understanding.
Our mission is to make herbal knowledge accessible, practical, and meaningful. We believe that understanding herbs empowers people to become active participants in their own wellbeing. Through education, materia medica, clinical herbal practice, and a deeper understanding of the body’s systems, energetics, tissue states, and individual constitution, we encourage people to develop a confident and respectful relationship with plants — learning not only what an herb does, but why, when, and for whom it may be appropriate.
There is no single path to wellbeing, and there is no single herb that is right for everyone. Krista’s Herbarium approaches each person as an individual, considering their constitution, lifestyle, nourishment, environment, emotional wellbeing, patterns of imbalance, and the way their body is communicating. Herbs are one part of a much broader picture of healing, alongside food, rest, movement, connection, self-awareness, and the many other ways we can support the body’s innate capacity for balance.
At the heart of Krista’s Herbarium is community. We want to preserve traditional plant knowledge, encourage responsible and informed herbal practice, and create a space where curiosity, learning, and experience can be shared. Like an old field journal passed from one herbalist to another, our work brings together the wisdom of the past with the knowledge of the present — nurturing a new generation of people who can approach plants with respect, discernment, wonder, and confidence. Our mission is not simply to teach people about herbs, but to help people rediscover their relationship with the living world and their own capacity to participate in healing.
