We are enjoying our elderberry syrup right now. It is delicious and powerful against an impending cold. The best part is picking the elderberries in the forest behind our house. It’s a great way to have fun as a family.

It is funny that elderberries are so abundant in the wild, but so ignored!

I just stopped by your blog. Beautiful. We currently live in the Czech Republic, but we hail from the Central Coast. My girls were born in Santa Cruz and my husband did his graduate and postgrad work at San Jose State. Small world.

Although my address is in Los Gatos, I am actually in Santa Cruz County. It is in the little part of Los Gatos that no one knows about, south of the Summit. I am in Felton right now. The guy that harvests much of the elderberries, as well as the blackberries happens to be from the Czech Republic. (They are those icky Russian bramble blackberries, but the fruit is good.)
